Responsible Biblical Discernment

Responsible Biblical Discernment

In Matthew 24:3, the disciples ask Jesus privately: “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?” In response in verse 4, Jesus gives them a command (not a suggestion): “See that no one leads you astray.” This is the last days sign that Jesus warned of the most, the sign which would be the prevailing sign of the last days referring to deception & falsehood, lying signs & wonders, false teachers, false prophets & false apostles. This message looks firstly at our individual responsibility as believers to walk in responsible biblical discernment as we are instructed in Scripture, so to not be led astray. Secondly, we look at some specific Bible verses that are often taken in isolation or out of context so as to hinder or to stop God’s people from walking in responsible biblical discernment. It is beyond late & it is beyond serious with the battle for truth raging all around us, especially in the Church. Nothing is as dangerous as deception, because nothing is as precious as truth & responsible biblical discernment determines our destiny.
