Love, Bless & Pray For Our Enemies

Love, Bless & Pray For Our Enemies

Luke 6: 27-28 “But I say to you who hear, ‘Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.’” In a world where offence is increasingly given and readily accepted, how does God require us to respond when we as Christians, are faced with this? There are some very clear instructions given to us by our LORD Jesus through the Word of God. We need to be those who not only trust God through increasing times of persecution and hatred, we must portray Jesus to those around us by being obedient to God’s totally different requirements to deal with this. Only then we do things His way will His purposes be fulfilled.

    Hello Sue,

Thank you so much for your very well thought out and challenging message. For ourselves, of course, it should just be a prayer of, “Lord help me put aside my humanness” – not so easy!!

Peter & Sue thank you for vetting all the songs and music that is played on the podcasts. I have certainly stood in some churches and wondered where some of the songs (“ditties”) have come from.
It is a blessing to know that the ones you play are in accordance with Scripture.

    Thank you.

Thank you Sue your message it is a reminder to forgive and pray for those who have caused offence as it was for me recently, a colleague from another office across the city, whom I have only met once, it happened online and involved a client I was working with, I was so upset and then angry, I had to log off and sit at my desk (we are still working from home) calm myself down and pray asking God to help me see it for what it was. It took me a couple of days to disconnect those negative thoughts I was having and replace with some of the scriptures you mentioned repeating those scriptures over and over that I found peace towards my colleague and for myself ….. and like the words of the closing hymn today…… “it is well with my soul” . Blessings to the Jesus First NZ family, I miss and appreciate you all 💜🙏
