The Beatitudes (11). In this message from David’s excellent series, we will see the important difference between righteous persecution & merely taking offence. Persecution is when Christians are pursued with the intent to cause harm for proclaiming God’s righteousness. When Christians do suffer harm for the true Gospel’s sake, not for doing good works, then we see Jesus’ promise of blessings. Through the example of Saul/Paul, George Whitefield & William Booth of the Salvation Army we see that out of real persecution comes real fruit. We are called to give all of ourselves to God, to speak the truth in love boldly, knowing that persecution may come & when it does knowing we are truly blessed for ours is the Kingdom of Heaven.
