Introduction To Prophetic Ministry

The Person & Work of the Holy Spirit (18). 1n 1 Corinthians 14 we see the importance that the Holy Spirit gives to prophecy & prophetic ministry, especially in verses 31 & 39 which state: “for you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted” (verse 31) & “earnestly desire and set your hearts on prophesying” (verse 39). Also, in Acts 2:17 & 18 we see the promise of God regarding the last days that our sons & daughters & God’s male and female servants shall prophesy. This message looks at what Scripture teaches about God’s intentions for the Church through prophecy & prophetic ministry, at some reasons why this ministry is devalued & even ignored including grieving & quenching the Holy Spirit & despising prophecy. We are encouraged from 1 Corinthians 14:1 to “keep on eagerly seeking the things of the Spirit; and especially seek to be able to prophesy.”
