(The Coming Wave of the Holy Spirit #7). In Acts 1:8 Jesus says to His disciples, “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, …to be My witnesses”. From scripture we see that being a witness is a primary means that the Gospel is proclaimed. The early believers understood this and saw God’s power to save in action as they simply testified to what they had seen and heard. Rather than us learning new methods and strategies to share the Gospel, scripture simply states, be ready, be prepared to say it clearly and don’t premeditate what we are to say. More now that ever we need to be ready, prepared to be His witnesses in action, allowing the Holy Spirit speak His words through us as we testify to what we have seen in heard. When we follow Jesus instructions to share the Gospel, we find His power at work to bring faith and a harvest for which He paid so dear a price.
