The High Holy Days are times of decision. These are solemn days given by God to consider our ways. Are our deeds in line with what we say we believe? James: “Someone will say, ‘Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works'” (James 2:18). The High Holy days are designed for us to evaluate our lives, our beliefs and our deeds. Are they consistent or do we need to come to God and renew our faith, restore our relationships, consider our lives before a Holy God, to whom we must give account.
