Israel in Prophecy

Because of his work in Jewish evangelism, Michael Thomas is often asked: “Why did they [the Jewish people] miss the coming of Jesus?”. John 1:11 states: “He came to His own, but His own people didn’t recognize Him” But, why? There was so much prophecy about His coming, how could they have missed Him? However, when we consider that only about one-third of Messianic prophecy has been fulfilled to date, and another two-thirds is yet to be fulfilled, why are so many in the Church unaware of the significance of Biblical Prophecy today? With a world full of people asking important questions about the times we live in, why is the church silent? Could it be that we, like the Jewish people of Paul’s day “have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge?”
